This child car seat has passed the regulatory tests required by UN-Regulation 129/03 to be sold as an i-Size toddler car seat for children measuring between 40cm and 150cm, which is from birth to 12 years old. But in our own tests, which are conducted at higher speeds and involve greater forces than the standard requires, this seat has encountered issues. When testing the rearward-facing toddler mode, our lab noticed that following crash testing a crack developed in the seat-shell, so they applied a modifier to the crash test score. Moreover, with the smallest size of dummy in the child seat mode (105cm and up), the diagonal part of the vehicle seatbelt cuts into the neck of the dummy according to our results. The combination of these safety issues, along with other installation concerns, has pulled the total test score down to a Don’t Buy level.
